Twitter Quitter

twitter quitter

I deleted my Twitter account this morning. This threatening tweet from the president gave me heart palpitations, and Twitter’s decision to not apply the same rules to the president for violent speech that they would apply to you or me made the choice to delete the account easy. There are plenty of social media platforms to choose from that don’t want to promote a nuclear war.

  1. I don’t blame you! Beyond the moral implications of supporting a platform like this (like any?) it feels like there is some psychic cost too. There is genuine human connection on Twitter, but there is also a whole lot that just makes me feel awful.

    • Totally. I figure that they only way anything is going to get done is if there’s a mass exodus of people from the site. Nothing’s going to change until it’s just Trump and a bunch of bots
